MOUNTAIN HOME SCHOOL DISTRICT NO. 103 REOPENING PLANS SY2020-2021
Greetings everyone,
I would like to give you an update on the status of school reopening for the 2020-2021 school year.
Currently, there are three different scenarios for school openings for the upcoming year. These three categories are Green (Phase 1), Yellow (Phase 2), and Red (Phase 3). To briefly summarize what each phase is, it can be best thought of as Green having all students physically in the school buildings; Yellow being a hybrid schedule of both on campus and remote learning; Red being completely remote learning.
These phases coordinate with the color phases that Central District Health uses. The phase we will be in will be based on the color phase that Central District Health will place our community in each week. Central District Health is finalizing the metrics they are using to determine those color phases. Central District Health will release the first report to the Mountain Home School District on August 3. At this moment in time, I would expect the Mountain Home community to be in the Yellow (Phase 2); this could change quickly.
Next week, on August 4, the Mountain School District Board of Trustees will meet to finalize the school reopening plans.
Below are links to each school’s individual reopening plans.
I have also included the link to the document you will need to fill out if you are planning to enroll your student in the online only portion. The actual registration portal will be connected to PowerSchool next week. Remember, if you choose this online option, your student will need to complete the entire first semester in the online program.
IDLA registration is now closed
I know this has been a difficult time and I know there is still much uncertainty. This situation remains very fluid and can change quickly. I will do my best to update you when there are changes that may impact our schools. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call me at (208)587-2580 or email me at gilbert_jg@mtnhomesd.org.
Sincerely,
James Gilbert, Superintendent

Please take a moment to read through the draft. If you would like to provide input on the plan please feel free to email Superintendent Gilbert at gilbert_jg@mtnhomesd.org.This plan is based on recommendations from the Center for Disease Control (CDC), Central District Health (CDH), and the Idaho State Board of Education. The plan is based on the best current science and health practices It is not based on political rhetoric. Our goal is to have schools open this fall for the students of Mountain Home. I am a parent of two school aged children in the Mountain Home School District and I look forward to getting them back to school this Fall!
