The purpose of this section is to provide some brief and general information.  If after exploring the entire Web site and your questions are not answered, or if you need additional information, we encourage you to visit with the principal of your child's school or contact the District Office.

Vision
In partnership with students, parents and community, the Mountain Home School District creates an exciting, challenging education that has value and meaning for each student, encouraging them to become responsible contributing members of society.

Parental Involvement

Absences & Truancy
Please refer to the Attendance Policy and Attendance Procedures.

Accidents
In case of an accident, school personnel will administer emergency care, and parents will be notified.  If a parent cannot be reached, the physician listed on the enrollment card will be notified.  All serious accidents are reported to the superintendent.

Boundaries
Boundaries established by MHSD #193 determine school attendance areas.  The primary residence of the parent or legal guardian determines which school the child will attend.  The District may transfer students from their home school to another school in order to meet special needs or to maintain the student/teacher ratios adopted by the district and state.

Computer Use Policy

Elementary School Hours
For your elementary child's safety, please remember to check with your child's school for the hours of adult supervision on the school grounds.

Medications
Dispensing of prescription or over-the-counter medications is clearly addressed  in the Dispensing of Mediations Policy.  The school must have on file a Physician's Medication Orders for Dispensing of Medication in the School form for dispensing prescription medication(s) and/or the Authorization for Non-Prescription Medication Dispensing form for dispensing over-the-counter medication(s).

ParentConnect
Using a unique User ID and password, parents will be able access their own child's test scores, assignments, report card, attendance, discipline reports, general school information, contacts, and announcements.  View a demo.  ParentConnect is expected to be fully operational in the fall of 2002.

Parent Organizations/Involvement
Parental participation is welcomed at all grade levels and we invite you to become involved at your  child's school.  Parents may assist in the classrooms or become involved with one of the parent organizations.  Contact your building for the parent organization and contact person.
