Jerome & Middleton Triangular     Friday, April 5    Complete results

The Tigers hosted at triangular Friday afternoon with the Tigers of Jerome and Middleton High School.  Jerome came away with team wins in both boys and girls scoring 113 and 93 points.  Middleton placed second in both with 46 and 55 respectively.  The host Tigers scored 27 and 38 points.   “Team wise we did not fair too well.” coach Urquidi stated.  “Individually, we had some good efforts.  Will Fields and Jennifer Donatelli had great meets.”  Junior Will Fields set personal best while winning the 100m(11.3), 200m(23.8), shot put(44’0.75”) and anchoring the winning 4x100m relay team with a time of 45.3 seconds.  Senior Jennifer Donatelli continued to show her dominance in the throwing events beating the defending 4A state champion in the shot put with a personal best and stadium record put of 41 feet 9.25 inches.  She also won the discus with a toss of 128 feet.  

On the girl’s side, senior Erin Hicks a double winner inthe jumps with a mark of 15 feet 6 inches in the long jump and 34 feet in the triple jump. Senior, Kristen Lothrop place second in the triple jump at 31 feet 1 inch and fourth in the long with 14 foot 5.75 inch effort.  Freshman Lauren Kisner placed second in the 100m coming in at 14 seconds flat and was followed by senior Shelly Martin at 14.5 seconds who placed third.  Senior Gayle Knutzen placed third in the 400m (1:09.8).   Kisner also placed fouth in the 300m intermediate hurdles with a time of 54.2 seconds.  In the pole vault, the Tiger sophomore duo of Tiffany Robbins and Bethany Gliddon placed second and third with both having vaults of 7 feet.  Senior  Denice Wade placed fourth in the discus with a throw of 92 feet 2 inches.    

The boy’s had a tough afternoon.  Junior, Ian Falo placed fourth in the 100m at 11.9 seconds, was on the winning 4x100m relay team along with Brandon Maughn, Justin Wiley and Fields, and had a disappointing no height in the pole vault.  Senior pole vaulter Aaron Howard placed second at 12 feet 6 inches while sophomore Grant Smith place third at 11 feet.  Freshman Jairo Salas placed third in the 400m coming in at 57.6 seconds.  

The Tigers host a JV meet Thursday and then travel to Emmett for the 26th Annual Husky Relays.  Coach Urquidi said, “For the next couple of weeks will work hard in practice to get ready for the Southern Idaho Conference Championships in Meridian.” He added, “The coaches and I want the kids to compete hard and have a good time at Emmett.  We are hoping to win some medals and gain some confidence heading into the middle part of the season.”
