| Keyboarding Introduction (2038) (Should have been taken in 8th Grade) |

| Keyboarding Introduction is the first semester of formal keyboarding instruction. Students learn home-row positioning on the typewriter or computer keyboard. Proper technique, including hand position, keystrokes, touch-control and posture are emphasized. Students are introduced to basic formatting of business documents as well as documents for personal use. |
| Keyboarding Applications (2039) (Should be taken in 9th Grade) |

| Prerequisite: Keyboarding Introduction (1 Semester keyboarding instruction 9-12). Keyboarding Applications is a one-semester course designed to apply keyboarding skills in formatting and producing letters, tables, reports, and outlines on computers. Speed and accuracy development is facilitated through the use of tutorial software. Original composition at the keyboard using unaligned or rough draft materials is integrated throughout the semester. Students are introduced to word processing, spreadsheets, and database. Touch method of ten-key calculator is introduced. Keyboarding Application is also an essential prerequisite for ALL other computer & economic classes. |

| Prerequisite: Keyboarding Introduction (1 Semester keyboarding inst. 9-12). Business Computer Applications is a one-semester course designed to acquaint students with basic principles and terminology associated with data "information" processing. The course includes an introduction to operating systems, word processing, spreadsheets, database, and presentation software using Microsoft Word Office. |
| Computerized Accounting 1 (2011) |

| Prerequisite: Keyboarding Introduction (1 Semester keyboarding inst. 9-12). Computerized Accounting 1 is a two-semester course which emphasizes accounting principles as they relate to the basic understanding and skills required in keeping manual and computerized financial records for a business. Emphasis is on providing basic skills for the accounting profession and/or preparation for ownership or management of a business. As a supplementary and on-going activity, touch method ten-key calculator is provided. |
| Advanced Word & PowerPoint (2026) |
| 10-11-12, 1 Semester |
| Prerequisite: Keyboarding Introduction (1 Semester Keyboarding inst. 9-12), Business Computer Applications. Advanced Word & PowerPoint is a one-semester course which uses the computer and Office 97. The course covers complex business and personal applications and concepts for word processing (Word 97) and presentation software (PowerPoint). Keyboarding speed and accuracy are part of required competencies. |
| Advanced Spreadsheet & Database Applications (2022) |

| Prerequisite: Keyboarding Introduction (1 Semester Keyboarding inst. 9-12), Business Computer Applications. This is a one-semester course covering spreadsheet and database. The course covers complex spreadsheet and database concepts and applications for business and personal use, using Microsoft Excel and Access. Keyboarding speed and accuracy are part of required competencies. |
| Desktop Publishing I (2023) |

| Prerequisite: Keyboarding Introduction (1 Semester Keyboarding inst. 9-12), Business Computer Applications, and Advanced Word & PowerPoint. This is a one-semester course, which includes integration of text and graphics following acceptable layout and design principles using Page Maker. Student generated graphics as well as template graphics will be used to create documents for personal use and business related tasks. This course will create the Syringa, sports publications, and other school documents. Speed, accuracy and proofreading are emphasized. |

| Prerequisite: Desktop Publishing 1. Teacher signature required. This is a one-semester course, which includes advanced integration of text and graphics following acceptable layout and design principles using PageMaker. Student generated graphics as well as template graphics will be used to create documents for personal use and business related tasks. This course will create the Syringa, sports publications, and other school documents. |
| Introduction to Internet Applications-HTML (2024) |

| Prerequisite: Keyboarding Introduction (1 Semester Keyboarding inst. 9-12), Business Computer Applications and at least one of the following: Advanced Spreadsheet and Database Applications, Desktop Publishing, or Advanced Word Processing &PowerPoint. This course is an introduction to Web page creation and Web page publishing. Emphasis is on using the Internet for research, decision-making and communication purposes. HTML language, Java Script, and Front Page 2000 will be introduced. Students in this class will be responsible for building and updating the high school web site. |
