Picture retakes and Senior pictures will be October 10th. Scholastic book orders, “Teen Reader’s Club” are now available in your English classroom and the Library. TRC have “the hottest titles, edgy fiction, opinions of life and tough issues for today’s teens. Books are reasonable priced and there are book titles for every interest! Please give your book order to your English Teacher or drop it off at the library. All book orders will be sent September 26. 2008. The National College Fair is Oct. 7th – Juniors its time sign-up for the college fair and pick up a permission slip in the Career Center. Go to: www.gotomyncf.com- print the ticket; pay $3.00 to the main office and bring the receipt and ticket to Mrs. Monasterio to get your name on the list. Due before OCTOBER 1ST
Deadline: October 1st You will be excused on October 7th at 10:15 and the bus will leave at 10:30 and return prior to 2:50. Bring a sack Lunch. JUNIORS! The deadline for signing up for the PSAT is fast approaching – by October 1st you need to pay $15 to the main office and pick up a Study Guide from Mrs. Abbott. PSAT will be administered at the American Legion Hall beginning at 8 AM on October 15th! The American Legion Hall is located within blocks from Mountain Home High School
Sophomores can sign up for the PLAN test in the office. The PLAN is the pre-ACT test. The cost is $11.00. The test will be on Oct. 24 at 1:30. See Mr. Siegwein if you need more details.
October 31st – ASVAB test – administered in the afternoon, following early release. No cost – sign up in the Career Center (Mrs. Monasterio) by October 1st.
Link Leaders: Our first lunch at the junior high will be September 29th. Please meet in Room H at 12:10. Remember to wear your link shirts that day!
Powder Puff Players: Senior Practice will be held on the practice field behind the main gym on October 11th at 4:00pm, October 12th at 7:00 pm and October 14th at 7:30 pm. Junior Practice will be held at East Side Park on October 11th at 4:00pm, October 12th at 7:00 pm and October 14th at 7:30 pm.
Macho Man Players: Practices will be held on October 7th, 8th, and 10th from 6 pm to 8 pm.
Shirt orders for both Macho Man and Powder Puff are due on September 26th at 3 pm. No late orders will be accepted!!!!

Scholarships Wendy’s Heisman Award Program is now open for Seniors. Applications are limited to men and women entering their senior year who have a min. GPA of 3.0 and participate in at least on school-sponsored sport. Apply at www.wendysheisman.com deadline for application is 5:00 P. M. October 1st . One male and one female athlete will be named School Winners. State finalist in November AXA Achievement Scholarship in association with U.S. News & World Report is announcing the opening of its scholarship applications. AXA Foundation awards 52 scholarships of $10,000 each and other awards. To apply visit www.axa-achievement.com deadline for applications is December 15, 2008. The Prudential Spirit of Community Award is announcing the opening of applications for their $1000 award program. The scholarship calls attention to youth volunteerism in schools and communities.
