Dear Parents, Welcome back to East Elementary! We are excited to begin a great year! It seems as though there is always some hill we need to climb before having a smooth sailing year; this year it seems to be the construction happening on East 8th North. They were hoping to complete our section before school started, but like most of the best planned projects time may get away and they may not quite finish. The construction company and the city have assured me that they will not close the roads or intersections during the morning drop-off time and the afternoon pick-up time. They are also planning to give us some extra support with police officers at the intersections at this time. They are aware of our mid-day kindergarten pick-up and drop-off time and will try their best to open traffic for this but if this is not possible please walk your students around to the playground (there will be no supervision at the front of the building). Please remind your children for their safety to stay away from the construction areas and equipment. There will be one day when the construction company will need to close the intersections and road for repaving. They are hoping to do this on a Saturday but I will let you know if I hear differently. Our open house is also on hold at this point. There is no reason to cause parents and road construction workers extra stress with parents trying to park with all the construction going on and construction workers trying to complete the job as quickly as possible with the parents trying to park. We will send a note home as soon as we are able to schedule our open house. Thank you for all your support and patience!

Looking Forward to Next Year!!!
Registration for next year has been set. East Elementary will be registering new and returning students Monday, August 5, 2013 from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM.
We are planning to post class lists Friday, August 9th.
The First Day of School is scheduled for Wednesday, August 14th.
