Mountain Home School District recognizes the important contribution that paraeducators make to the educational team as well as the district responsibility to meet federal and state paraeducator training requirements. Therefore, Mountain Home School District is continuing its paraeducator training cycle that will provide critical information pertaining to our role as a paraeducator.
MHSD paraeducators include non-certified staff in the following areas:
- Title I
- Special Education (including Speech/Language & Preschool)
- Migrant
- LEP (Limited English Proficiency)
- Media Lab Facilitator
- Library Manager
- Library Assistant
- Disciplinary Assistant
- Career Coordinator (MHHS)
- Classroom Instructional Assistants
- Juvenile Detention
Current Employees: In order to continue employment with Mountain Home School District #193, all paraeducators employed prior to August 1, 2004 are required to meet the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) academic qualifications and requirements by January 8, 2006.
New Hires: All newly hired paraeducators must meet the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) academic qualifications and requirements prior to full or part time employment. Until credentials are provided or test is passed, the applicant will only be on a temporary basis, with no benefits.
The No Child Left Behind (NCLB) ACT requires that paraeducators complete the district provided paraeducator training.
