The Class of 1963 started first grade at Central Elementary in the fall of 1952.  Kindergarten was not part of the pubic school system at that time.  During their second year of school, 1953-1954, the "new elementary" was opened.  It was named North Elementary but is currently East Elementary.  Students in grades 1-3 placed all their school materials in a paper bag and walked from Central Elementary to North Elementary.  Mr. Leo Miller was the principal at that time.  These students moved back to central elementary for grades 4-6 and then to the current Hacker Annex for grades 7 & 8.  MHHS included grades 9-12.
