It is important when you start an exercise program that you are able to see results.  If you exercise and exercise and you don't think you are achieving anything it is hard to continue.  An exercise log is a tool used to help you track your progress.  It lets you look back and see what you have achieved.   As you fill out the log, fill it out honestly, after all it is only you who is going to see it.  As the weeks go by you will be able to see how much you improve as you are able to exercise for longer periods of time and improve your skills.  This is a simple 6 week log that helps you track the amount of time you spend exercising and the time you spent doing it.  There are many other types of logs you can fill out.  You can do a search using Google with the key words:  fitness log, exercise log, exercise form, fitness form.

Another fun thing you can do is take part in the President's Challenge.  This is a fun program where you can earn points for exercising and if you achieve enough points you can earn certificates and awards.   Another really cool thing about taking part in the President's Challenge is you can log in and use the online Activity Log to track your progress.  It is divided up by age and the President's Challenge even suggests activities for you to do.  It is pretty simple and a lot of FUN!

America is on the Move is another site you might want to register with to track your fitness level.  This site uses pedometer readings to track your fitness growth.  A pedometer is a device used to measure the number of steps you take each day.  They are small and usually worn on your waist.  Each day you record the number of steps you took that day and then reset it for the next day.

BAM! Body and Mind has a calendar where you can not only log your activities but you can schedule them in advance.  This site also has a lot of good information on activities and food decisions to help you on your way to a healthy body.

Sticker Chart for young children.  Stick this chart on your fridge and every time you do an activity stick another sticker on it.
