Dear Parents, North Elementary welcomes you! We are excited to have you and your child/children here at North this year. The staff is prepared to meet the needs of both students and parents in the shared experience of learning. I hope that we can all work together for the academics and social improvement of our students and the community at large. Please become actively involved. We welcome parents’ involvement in their child’s education. Teachers, other staff and I will work very hard to make this year one of the best ever! To fully accomplish this we need your support. Volunteers are welcome in the classrooms and at our various programs. Contacts can be made through the classroom teacher or office to determine where and how your contributions could best benefit the class. Our North Computer Lab continues to be fully operational thanks to parent, A.C.T. and district support. Our Accelerated Reader Program is continuing to show academic growth and positive results. As with any program, changes will be made to improve it as deemed necessary. Accelerated Math for 3rd and 4th grades has enhanced math skills. We eagerly anticipate its advantages again. Our reading adoption will be in its second year. Last years reading assessment scores made significant gains and we anticipate even better gains this year. We plan to have the “Circuit Trainer” installed this summer and ready for student use this fall. Thanks to our active and wonderful parent group. Parents, thank you for sharing your children with us. As educators we love to see the growth in learning that these wonderful students achieve during the course of a year. Our dedication is to further this growth and develop a full partnership with the home in doing so. Please let us know how we are doing. Meeting state guidelines, curriculum alignment, improved testing, more data interpretation, new reading texts and programs will all combine to develop your child’s learning to help us educate him/her for today and tomorrow’s world.
Sincerely,
